Alcon was founded in Cartagena, Colombia,
in 1993. After the economic liberalization
and global openness in the early nineties,
Colombia experience a strong growth in its
foreign trade and an increasing demand for
related services.
Alcon responded to this challenge, offering
specific solutions to targeted clients
Through its growth, Alcon has contributed
remarkably to the development of the Colombian
foreign trade, offering a complete and integral
set of logistics services to shipping lines,
shipping agents, freight forwarders, NVOCC’s,
shippers, exporters, importers, customs intermediation
entities , among others. Alcon started operations with
repair and maintenance services for conventional
containers in the city of Cartagena, extending their
coverage promptly to the main ports of the country,
like Barranquilla, Santa Marta and Buenaventura, in
accordance with the needs of the potential customers.
Through time, Alcon has extended its services to all
types of reefer containers, a key partner in the perishable
cargo industry.
Alcon has built a valuable customer data base,
which includes important Colombian companies
in the International Trade Sector, as well as key
important foreign entities .
